The organisation works closely with other regional farmers’ organisations on the continent, namely Reseau des Organizations Paysannes et de Producteurs agricoles de l’Alfrique de l’Ouest (ROPPA – West Africa), Plateforme Sous-Regionale des Organizations Paysannes d’Afrique Centrale (PROPAC), Eastern Africa Farmers’ Federation (EAFF) and Union Maghrebin des Agriculteurs (UMNAGRI – North Africa). It is a member of the Pan-African Farmers’ Organisation (PAFO) which coordinates the voice of African farmers at continental level. In addition, it is associated with Agricord and the World Farmers’ Organisation. It is also a founding member of the SADC Business Council. SACAU’s work is also enabled by various partnerships and collaborations with a number of organisations in several areas. And the organisation harnesses various other partnerships and collaborations with a number of entities in different areas, to enabled its work.

In this regard, the following organisations currently provide essential financial and technical support to the organisation, namely the European Commission (EC), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), WE Effect, Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), World Economic Forum (WEF), CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), and Andreas Hermes Akademie (AHA).

SACAU also serves on structures of various continental and global institutions such as the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS), the World Economic Forum (WEF), African Union(AU)/New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), Montpellier Malabo Panel of Experts, Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU), CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), Generation Africa and the Commission on Sustainable Agriculture Intensification.
